Okay, I see you just placed a wiki related to this topic on the wiki
pages :-)
I edited the properties file, as well as the mysql-search xml file to
connect to my database and all is well :-)
Thanks to both you and David for the comments and conversation.

Your first message said you had "Apache configured to handle
html and php files", which really sounds suspicious, as it
should delegate everything to jk. Did you have a look at this
page on the wiki?

Well, the point to using mod_jk is make things more efficient by
having Apache http handle html. Tomcat will do the job, just not
as quickly. Also, Tomcat doesn't do PHP.
However, I'm using the jkMount directive to determine which
server handles what, if that's what you're referring to.
Interesting, so that means you want to serve some content from
plain html files on your filesystem, and some other from Magnolia,
for the same site... You'll probably want to change the
defaultExtension property, then, which is by default set to .html,
thus having Magnolia generating ".html" links by default.
Not necessarily, though I suppose I could, if I wanted and had a
need to. Not to say there would NEVER be a need or desire to...
this is just the configuring for my internal (development) server.
In other words, I have different projects going on, and it's built
around that.
I'm using Magnolia to manage my personal/professional site. The
public portion of the CMS will reside on my external host. I also
want to hack it a bit, work on a few modules, etc, because it's fun
to do and helps me develop new skills.
