Hi,
Good news, wiki users: we have been granted an open source license
for Confluence by the fine folks at Atlassian !
You should now be able to edit the new wiki [1] to your heart's
content, using your Jira username/password. If that's not the case,
please raise your voice.
A couple of notes:
- Feel free to edit, correct, improve !
- Tag pages ! (your consistency is much appreciated)
- Use the RSS features of Confluence [2] to stay up-to-date with
what's going on over all the wiki, or for your specific topics of
interest. You can even watch for specific tags !
- Some content re-structuration needs to happen: if you're not
sure what/how to do it, feel free to use comments or the users list
to discuss.
- I added a new space: wiki archive [3]. The intention being that
we move all old/outdated pages there. They might still be valuable,
but it seems to me they create a lot of noise at the moment, and
might lead to some confusion. Loads of things have changed since
Magnolia v2.
- A couple of users had requested write permissions, as I
suggested. I'd appreciate if you guys could double check you can
still login/edit.
- Some people had their own page in the old wiki. (I moved those I
could identify under the "Contributors" page [5]) You can now create
your own "personal space": if you do, please cleanup the your
contributor page; every contribution you do will link to your
personal page/space :)
- If you're not familiar with Confluence, please use the sandbox
[4] to experiment with the syntax and the macros. There are a bunch
of very useful macros, like {children}, or {jiraissues} for instance.
Have a look at the notation guide [6].
- Your ideas and suggestions are welcome: if there's something you
think we should do regarding the wiki (plugins, spaces,
options, ...), just shout !
We hope you'll like this new toy^wtool, and thank you in advance for
your contributions !
Cheers,
-greg
ps: just to reiterate: the reason we went for Confluence is mainly
that, to my knowledge and experience, it's simply the best tool
around for the job, and we don't have the resources just yet to
implement these features in Magnolia :)
