Yeah, I think that was the exact issue I was having. I think a lot of
query bugs are addressed in 1.4 - along with a lot of other nice
little features. I tricked myself into thinking I had 1.4 working on
my local installation once, but the tests were actually failing when
I ran them properly. I'll have to go back and see why the tests were
failing before I try any more tests with 1.4 - but 1.4 has some
really nice bug fixes and small upgrades to it.
I want to go to jackrabbit 1.4 to rebuild a search snippets and
search results part. The current one functions, but Jackrabbit has
added a bunch of new functionality related to searching that could be
easily leveraged... like spell checking suggestions, synonym
searching, snippet extraction, etc...
This also brings up another topic... How long will the project cling
to a 1.4 source level? The number of collections we are iterating
over in just about every piece of code is reason enough to go to 1.5
- and the test code has been at 1.5 for a long time now.
The reason I ask is because when I build my new modules for my
personal use, I would much prefer to use type-safe collections and
the corresponding loops. I also like stuff to get merged into the
project so others can benefit from it... For tweaking existing code
snippets I'm fine with leaving things the way they are - but if I am
building new features or new improvements - I'm not as willing to use
1.4 syntax
