2.6.10-skas3v7 (skas3v7 from Tuxrocks) and vanilla
2.6.10 UMLs work fine for me. Problems with zombies
and unmountable tmpfs appear to be gone. I have 30
2.6.10 UMLs running on a dual Xeon 2.8. They have
been running perfectly for the last 48 hours. Based
on this performance and even longer runs with
2.6.9-bb4 UMLs, I'm not expecting any problems.
IMHO, the 2.6 kernel is a much higher performance
platform for hosting UML guests than 2.4. Based on my
experiences it can be used reliably in a production
environment. I haven't used 2.4 on the host for some
time now and don't intend to ever go back to it.
Remember, these are only my opinions. Your mileage
may vary. . .
Blaisorblade-
Did all of the 2.6.9-bb4 patches make it into the
mainline 2.6.10?
If not, do you intend to release a 2.6.10-bbx that
includes anything that is missing or requires fixing?
In a thread on uml-devel you mention some patches for
Skas3 from Roland McGrath. Will you be releasing a
Skas3v8 patch that includes these patches?
BTW, Thank you for your hard work and dedication to
the UML project. It's greatly appreciated.
