Not enough info... networking in 2.6.10 is not buggy for what I know.

I can only provide what was seen on these days:

If you run Debian, there is a problem with the network setup - with the 
precompiled version, there a special setting which is not applied with the 
UML binary (don't ask me why - maybe Debian also packages a wrapper script). 
Search for Debian in the thread "uml hangs after a day or so".
