Hi all

I've got a problem with quota on a debian sarge uml client with kernel
2.4.27-1um, host is 2.6.8, skas3. I'm trying to use it on the root
partition /dev/ubd/0 which is mounted with options usrquota, grpquota.
The next step would be to initialize /quota.user and /quota.group.
I've tried to call quotacheck -avu, quotacheck -avug, quotacheck -vu /,
quotacheck -vum / etc. even started up the uml client in single user
mode. It fails with one of the following error messages:

quotacheck: Can't find filesystem to check or filesystem not mounted
with quota option.

Does the filesystem you use supports quota? Have you checked the procedure? I think things should work, at least with ext2 (I don't have tested this, however). Have you compiled in quota support.

With hostfs there would be a big problem (I think someone explained it couldn't work), but not in this case.

Solved. The ext3 filesystem was mounted as "auto". Had to mount it explicitly as "ext3". Tricky.
