hi,

I am using Gentoo linux with kernel 2.6.10 with skas3-v7 patch applied
on my host system. The uml-kernel (skas mode) is (currently) linux
2.4.26 (with gentoo's uml-patches applied). The problem is: after a
while I get an error:
Kernel panic: Kernel stack overflow
I tried some kernels (2.4.26, 2.4.28, 2.4.29, 2.6.9, 2.6.10,
2.6.10-gentoo,2.6.8.1), but I always get the same error, even with
different host-kernels.
With kernel 2.6.10 i got the message:
Kernel panic: kernel BUG at mm/swap_state.c:124!
So finally even I gave up looking for a solution. Has anyone had similar
problems?
And the more memory I allocate to the uml, the longer I can use it. I
tried deactivating swap, but it did not help. I am no developer, I have
no knowledge about this, but gdb only says:
Program terminated with signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
(gdb) bt says "No stack.".
Additionally, when I compile the kernel (any) with CONFIG_STATIC_LINK, I
get a Segmentation Fault immediately. Any hints?
thanks,
Robert
