Hello,

In reply to my own post : looking at the output of the kernel, it seems that
this happens when the kernel is still in control, ie. the root file system is
mounted, but init has not taken over yet. This probably means that somehow the
kernel is rebooted as a consequence SELinux.

I will now try to remove SELinux support from the kernel and see what this
gives.
