Hi, I am on Ubuntu 5.04 (kernel 2.6.10). I have downloaded the 2.6.10 kernel from kernel.org and did the following: $ make mrproper ARCH=um && make menuconfig ARCH=um && make linux ARCH=um while menuconfig I have chosen all the Char and Block devices and the Host FS and networking devices. Compilation went well. I have downloaded the Debian 3.0r0 filesystem image and when I start the UML, I get the following: ---------------------------------------<snip>------------------------- [00:41:07][~/uml/linux-2.6.10] [EMAIL PROTECTED] $ ./linux ubd0=../root_fs.cow,../Debian-3.0r0.ext2 no-xterm Checking for the skas3 patch in the host...not found Checking for /proc/mm...not found Checking PROT_EXEC mmap in /tmp...OK tracing thread pid = 9769 Linux version 2.6.10 ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (gcc version 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-8ubuntu2)) #2 Thu Aug 11 00:27:29 BST 2005 Built 1 zonelists Kernel command line: ubd0=../root_fs.cow,../Debian-3.0r0.ext2 no-xterm root=98:0PID hash table entries: 256 (order: 8, 4096 bytes) Dentry cache hash table entries: 8192 (order: 3, 32768 bytes) Inode-cache hash table entries: 4096 (order: 2, 16384 bytes) Memory: 29184k available Security Framework v1.0.0 initialized SELinux: Disabled at boot.
