I've put up a stage3 tarball optimized for UML on amd64 hosts. You can
find it on:

This boots in SKAS0 without hanging on the TLS issue. The whole system is
compiled with:
USE="sse 3dnow mmx -acpi -apm -directfb -svga -fbcon"
CHOST="i386-pc-linux-gnu"
CFLAGS="-O2 -march=athlon-xp -pipe -msse -msse2"
I haven't actually tested if this is any faster than the plain x86/i386
stage3 tarball, but at least it feels more satisfying to have specified
the optimization flags. :-)
