It's some kind of bug, but if you use an up-to-date kernel it has the fix 
(there's no recent report of such a bug).

Say, we are at 2.6.13.4-bs4 (the -bs4 patch is from my site, 2.6.13.4 is from 
kernel.org)

Doesn't it? Well, the old package maintainer went away, but I've seen people 
using up-to-date package. Are you sure you didn't simply mispell the package 
name?
