As far as I can see, the machine now hangs (busy hang) indefinitely
instead.
Pity.. things worked so well in skas0 on my opteron machine. I'll try to
reinstall this (athlon64 dual core) machine in 64 bit mode and see if I
can replicate the state on my opteron. Running in 32 bit obviously did not
help all that much. :-)
