Ok, what a luck.... I started debugging the problem and it didn't sound _nice_ 
at all.

The kernel is passing an invalid (negative) value to the program as the 
location of its ELF headers - but the invalid value is in turn calculated 
from program headers, which must then be corrupted somehow.
