Hi,

first of all: thanks to all of you, especially Blaisorblade for all the work
and for helping me in November with my devfs problem.

I'm playing around with 2.6 and 2.4 kernels, most of them work inspite of me
building them ;-)

Problem: I don't get the clue how to build an external module (like IPsec).
The standard modules work well, but I don't seem to be able to apply an
external module patch on the uml kernel's source code.

According to the HowTo on

http://user-mode-linux.sourceforge.net/UserModeLinux-HOWTO-2.html#ss2.2

there must be a kind of way to cope with all that, I just don't realize how
to do it _exactly_. What about that CFLAG stuff? Is there a more detailed
howto somewhere or just a hint of any kind?

I would appreciate some help on this problem very much, I'm stuck with it
for weeks. A broad variety of errors occured whilst trying to compile/patch
a module from an external source that requires the kernel sources to be in
place. Mostly 'file $name not found'

My best wishes to all of you for 2006, have a prosper and a good time!

Sincerely,
Karl
