Hi,

I've got a UML running on a server here, but whenever I copy a large
number of files across via hostfs it seems to lock up the UML. I have
gkrellmd running and I can see the system load (of the UML) skyrocket
just before gkrellmd dies and I lose access to the UML. Sometimes I
can still switch between virtual terminals with Ctrl+A,Ctrl+A via the
'screen' program running via SSH within the UML, so it hasn't
completely locked up, but anything that tries to access the disk gets
stuck.

Sometimes gkrellmd keeps running and the load appears to go higher and
higher, but even 24 hours later the UML has still frozen.

I've never observed this behaviour with the other four UMLs running on
the same machine, but then again they aren't running anything
disk-intensive.

UML is 2.6.14 (same executable for all UMLs) sitting on a
2.6.14-skas3-v9-pre7 SMP host. All UMLs are using the same base disk
image, with a different COW image on top of that for each UML.

Any ideas as to why it keeps locking up? When I first set up this UML
it also froze when running 'mysql_install_db' and it has also locked up
on occasion when compiling programs, so I don't think it's hostfs to
blame.

Thanks,
Adam.
