Which ones? The stone-age 2.4.19-5 or recent 2.6 ones?

Some further info please - which host/guest version are you using? Both of 
Linux and of host distro (if possible also GCC, binutils and glibc versions).

I remember such errors in Debian Sid which shipped buggy binutils ~1 month 
ago, or with very old UML kernels and newer host distros.
