Well, we've just discovered that the most important part (for performance) of 
SKAS3 *is* supported (instead of "mode=skas0"/"skas0" pass simply "noprocmm", 
the UML will run happily).

I don't have data about the performance loss, but I think on this side it'd be 
not big.

However, the SYSEMU code isn't implemented for x86_64. And that is a bigger 
problem indeed for performance. Look at the end of

But ignore the "60%" number since it's a micro-benchmark (i.e. unlikely to 
represent a real application). The 33% one is more realistic.
