There's supposed to be a full root filesystem under data/, with correct
permissions. It looks you put nothing there.
> $ ./linux rootfstype=humfs rootflags=/var/lib/user-mode-linux/uml001/
This looks OK.
And to answer $SUBJECT, I've beaten on humfs quite a bit and it seems
stable.
