In the filesystem page, go to "Native Language Support" to enable required ones. Actually, very likely, you'll need (also) a different fs, like iso8859-15 - at man mount you can look for "fat" and see the list of options to choose the charset. Obviously remember that if you enable these features as modules you'll need to install them properly inside the root_fs for each kernel version! > Unable to load NLS charset cp437 > FAT: codepage cp437 not found > VFS: Can't find an ext2 filesystem on dev ubdc1. > Unable to load NLS charset cp437 > FAT: codepage cp437 not found > FAT: bogus number of reserved sectors > VFS: Can't find a valid FAT filesystem on dev ubdc. These four ones are because /dev/ubdc begins with the partition table (nothing new). > vfat and fat modules are loaded. > If I do the same attempt on my AMD64 i get only a kernel panic.. This only happens with the ubdc= assignment? Really strange and interesting. If confirmed, provide the full panic output as a separate bug report. > [...........] > Initializing software serial port version 1 > ubda: unknown partition table > ubdb: unknown partition table > Kernel panic - not syncing: Segfault with no mm > > Modules linked in: > Pid: 1, comm: swapper Not tainted 2.6.18.2-bb2 > [...........] > > On my notebook: > [...] > Initializing software serial port version 1 > ubda: unknown partition table > ubdb: unknown partition table > ubdc: ubdc1 > [...] > > Thank you so much, > > Flavio. -- Inform me of my mistakes, so I can add them to my list!
