Hi,
I am trying to setup UML in Fedora Core 6. The steps that I followed are:
- Downloaded 2.6.18.1 vanilla kernel (linux-2.6.18.1.tar.bz2)
- Downloaded blaisorblade's 2.6.18.1 bb2 patch (uml-2.6.18.1-bb2.patch)
- Applied the patch on vanilla kernel
- make defconfig ARCH=um; make linux ARCH=um
- Downloaded FedoraCore5 Root FS (FedoraCore5-x86-root_fs) from
http://uml.nagafix.co.uk/
- When uml kernel is started it hangs after : VFS: Mounted root (ext3
filesystem) readonly
As per the suggestion in
http://user-mode-linux.sourceforge.net/new/problems.html#vdso :
- Checked the FC6 .config. It doesn't have CONFIG_COMPAT_VDSO enabled
- Anyway tried to disable vdso by passing vdso=0 as boot parameter
Still UML hangs in the same place. Has anyone tried running UML in FC6? If so,
can you please help me.
