Almost, but not quite. It depends on how the filesystem is created.
Sparse files will show the free space in the guest but without using any 
space on the host. Unless you specifically created a sparse file, this 
is not your problem, if you are using skas3 - this is as fast as it is 
going to be... unfortunately.
