Search for this on the archives of this list (on marc.theaimsgroup.com for instance), I remember users using this (with some caveat) and some kind of support in other versions (from other sources) of uml_switch, IIRC it was VDE. I don't remember whether VLAN packet can just pass through normal switches, and be forwarded to VLAN-aware ones, but that could also be possible. -- Inform me of my mistakes, so I can add them to my list!
