Now, if you straced eject at this point, you would see
ioctl(<n>, CDROMEJECT, 0x1) = 0
?
If so, what's the difference between eject and UML? Are you running
eject as root? Is the eject binary setuid root? That's the basic
question that's underlying this problem.
