That works (though not yet test the guest os network). Thanks for the help.
During installation, the only problem I encountered so far is the guest os - i.e. debian (etch) - can not find the port-helper required by the xterm. Though in User Mode Linux HowTo it has mentioned this, but I can not figure it out very well. My problem is because it is 64 bits os (both guest and host os), the port-helper path is different from i386. So basically if the guest os is debian etch (amd64), on the host os (my case is opensuse 11.0) you can make a symblic link to /usr/lib/uml/ folder by command `ln -s /usr/lib64/uml/port-helper /usr/lib/uml/port-helper`. I understand this is trivial for expert, but hope that can help newbie person like me. : ) Thanks again for all your help. I appreciate it. --- On Wed, 13/8/08, Flavio <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > From: Flavio <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: Re: [uml-user] request_module: runaway loop modprobe binfmt-464c > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED], "user-mode-linux-user" > <user-mode-linux-user@lists.sourceforge.net> > Date: Wednesday, 13 August, 2008, 12:28 PM > 2008/8/10 Neo Anderson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > > > The host os is Open Suse 11.0 with kernel > 2.6.25-1.1-default > > The guest os is Debian testing 2.6.26. > > The hardware used by host os is hp 6910p, which uses > iwl4965 wireless card. > The followig commmand should do the right thing gor you: > > debootstrap --arch amd64 etch loop/ > http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ Send instant messages to your online friends http://uk.messenger.yahoo.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ User-mode-linux-user mailing list User-mode-linux-user@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/user-mode-linux-user
