For the purpose of shutting down UMLs, I changed "ctrlaltdel" handling
in /etc/inittab (in the UML) to:
#v+
ca:12345:ctrlaltdel:/sbin/shutdown -t1 -a -h now
#v-
(A reload of init ("init q") may be necessary.)
Then I can shut down the UML by:
#v+
uml_mconsole THE_ID cad
#v-
Works great for me.
