Haha! Thats exactly the reason, why I subscribed to this list. Got the same error when I try to start some of my 12 UML instances, while others work perfectly. The error happens always with the same UMLs. Permissions are right on /dev/net/tun. Running Debian lenny with 2.6.18-skas3 from etch here. Guests run anything from 2.6.18 - 2.6.30 with the error reoccuring. I tried everything I could, but no way.
Any suggestions welcome, but thinking about switching to OpenVZ/XEN anyway :-/ Greets, Falk On Sep 30, 2009, at 8:50 PM, Flavio wrote: > Hi all, > > I have some networking problem. > Networking inside UML is always worked, but today it suddenly > stopped to work. > > The command line is the same I've always used: > linux ubd0=rootfs.debian.etch ubd1=swapfs.debian > eth0=tuntap,,,192.168.1.100 mem=512M > > During the boot of the virtual machine I get these messages: > Configuring network interfaces...SIOCSIFADDR: No such device > eth0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device > SIOCSIFNETMASK: No such device > SIOCSIFBRDADDR: No such device > eth0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device > eth0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device > Failed to bring up eth0. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Come build with us!
