As an alternative to the VM recently offered, I have written a Stackscript that configures Hadoop, Zookeeper, and Accumulo as a single-node for a Linode server. It takes about 10 minutes for the startup to complete. Then it is just a matter of running 'init' and starting the Accumulo processes.
