Hi Deepak, Here are some docs showing how to use the API: * API Reference [1] * Adding a host and deploying components [2] * Adding a new service to an existing cluster [3]
Also, you can find out exactly Ambari Web creates a cluster from scratch by looking at the Network tab of the Developer Tools in your browser (e.g., Chrome) as you run the Install Wizard. Furthermore, there is ongoing work on making such on-the-fly API-based cluster provisioning easier via "blueprints" [3] [1] https://github.com/apache/ambari/blob/trunk/ambari-server/docs/api/v1/index.md [2] https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/AMBARI/Add+a+host+and+deploy+components+using+APIs [3] https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/AMBARI/Adding+a+New+Service+to+an+Existing+Cluster [4] https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMBARI-1783 Hope this helps, Yusaku On Sun, Jan 5, 2014 at 9:54 PM, Deepak Sharma <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi All > I am looking to implement Ambari APIs in a product that would let us > provision hadoop/hive/pig clusters on fly , be it VM or physical servers. > Please do share some insights on it like how it can be done and some > documents targeted to this specific topic. > > Thanks > -- > Deepak Sharma > -- CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE NOTICE: This message is intended for the use of the individual or entity to which it is addressed and may contain information that is confidential, privileged and exempt from disclosure under applicable law.
