Make sure that the host name in your .ssh/known_hosts file is fully qualified.
ex. hostname ssh-rsa ... hostname.mydomain.com ssh-rsa ... The first entry will not work, the second will. The docs jcraft docs describe this, but I have to admit that I overlooked it myself.
