Hi David,

Do you know any alternative that enables a subsystem to get its unscoped contents using a P2 as the remote repository?

I know that P2 don't implements the Repository Services spec and It seems that P2 team won't natively provide it so soon, but unfortunately all bundles that I will need to use are being build by Tycho and concentrated in a composite P2...

thanks,

Cristiano

Hi Cristiano,

The Aries Applications component is a precursor to Subsystems. Apache Aries now also contains an OSGi Subsystem implementation (in fact it is the Reference Implementation) and I would suggest to use that instead. There is not much documentation on Subsystems on the Aries website yet, but this blog post might get you going: http://coderthoughts.blogspot.com/2013/04/osgi-subsystems.html

Cheers,

David

    Hello,

I've started to read the OSGi Subsystems Spec and today I read
    this page: http://aries.apache.org/modules/applications.html and
    got in doubts.

Is Aries application full compatible with Subsystem Spec ?

I'm asking this because at Aries page I saw "Application-Content:"
header while in spec I saw "Subsystem-Content". The same for the
    other headers and *.MF files.

    thanks,

    Cristiano
