I am using Avro 1.5.1 and cdh3u0 ( 0.20.2 ) . Does anyone know if they are compatible. I decided to ask before i run into any problems.
Where is the documentation that talks about this ? This indicates 20.2 is compatible with avro 1.3.2 https://github.com/tomwhite/hadoop-book/blob/master/avro/ivy.xml I understand this is specific to the new mapreduce api. https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AVRO-593 Also, is there any plans to work on the new mapreduce api for avro i.e the issue above. If I want to attempt it, how much work do you think it would be and also can be broken down into sub components. thanks Arun
