Hi Sorry Evans, this is not exactly true.
We build source RPM's and they work in some sense. - They do not work in a plain environment since it depends on our toolchain installed (see Bigtop wiki on how to install) - They need some special command line options for rebuilding. --define _topdir --define $NAME_version --define $NAME_base --define $NAME_release (see task $target-rpm in packages.gradle) One definetly can rebuild with the source rpm provided, but we would have to document it. If the SRPM is missing something, it is a bug and please report.
