Eric,

I posted this exact reply earlier in this thread, but I guess you
missed it somehow.

Please take a look at the jdo-conf descriptor for the oracle
functional tests here:

The trouble you're having is due to the fact that the
transation-demarcation element is inside of the database element. Move
the transaction-demarcation element outside of the database element.
