Our team worked to integrate Castor for XML-Java binding into the XFire
SOAP framework (http://xfire.codehaus.org) and the integration is
available in the latest release (1.0-RC1). I haven't tried Axis 2 yet,
but XFire has a much higher ease-of-use than Axis 1.3.
