Hi Marco, Hi Robert, I thought a bit on how to start contributing to Castor yesterday evening. The first thing that came to my mind relates to docs and the experiences you made with Castor.
- Have you had any problems using Castor? - Did you miss anything in docs? As other users may have similar problems or miss the same things in docs it would be a good starting point to write a short howto about your solution. I also took a look for open issues that are not too difficult to start with. As I don't know yet what you are interested in you can choose some yourself from the following list. If you found other issues you like to work on looking at jira yourself, go ahead. CastorJDO http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/CASTOR-303 http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/CASTOR-440 http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/CASTOR-1044 http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/CASTOR-1312 CastorXML http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/CASTOR-792 http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/CASTOR-879 http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/CASTOR-1058 http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/CASTOR-1166 http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/CASTOR-1277 http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/CASTOR-1322 SourceGenerator http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/CASTOR-1051 http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/CASTOR-1194 http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/CASTOR-1242 http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/CASTOR-1257 http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/CASTOR-1296 http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/CASTOR-1307 http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/CASTOR-1335 http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/CASTOR-1338 other Tools http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/CASTOR-822 http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/CASTOR-1096 Having said that I can only guess how difficult these issues are. Some of them may show up rather difficult and others may be quite simple or have been resolved with other changes since they have been reported.
