I don't remember exactly but aren't these class comparisons performed in
numerous other places in the code? For example in the set-method, I think.
These places should all be changed to cope with subclasses. I don't have time
to investigate this issue further today but maybe in the next days.
Should I open an issue for the enumeration problem nevertheless?
