No, a snapshot release is a binary release as well (like a real
release). The only difference is that a snapshot release ends up on the
snapshot repository only, whereas a true release is uploaded to the main
 Codehaus Maven 2 repository, from where it will be replicated to all
ibiblio mirrors.
