Maybe it's my fault:
I generated the classes using castor-1.1.2 on Java-1.4.2 but I ran the program
using castor-0.9.4.2 on Java-1.3.1.
Maybe the old castor version stores the information how to build the tag names
on a different place... ?
I cannot change the java version becaus it's running insite a customers
database where I have no direct access to.

At the moment it's ok, to live with the restrictions of castor 0.9.4.2 (no
value list for attributes in my case) and I think you're not keen on
maintaining an old version... So I'll come up with the Jira issue later and
only if the project needs more of the advanced features...
