Okay, thanks for confirming. In that case I'd assume that the Ant script
has got some code duplication in there that (still) produces a
castor.jar where it shoudln't. Looks like I need to touch Ant scripts
once again .. ;-).
Just to make sure, you should use the -core and the -xml JARs to build
your environment.

castor-1.3.1.jar seems to contain all the same classes as it. For my
app, I seem to be able to get away with having castor-1.3.1.jar and
castor-1.3.1-core.jar on my classpath.
