I'm having trouble getting Tomcat 7 to start as a service, and the folks
on the Tomcat list have suggested the problem seems to lie with
commons-daemon and suggested I ask you nice folks over here.
I've just installed Tomcat 7 (64 bit) on Windows 7, trying both Java
1.7.0 and 1.6.0_25 with the same results.
I can run Tomcat manually from startup.bat, and I can install it as a
service using service.bat, but the resulting service will not run,
giving a pop-up that says "Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly."
In tomcat\logs\commons-daemon.2011-10-14.log I see: "[2011-10-14
07:43:21] [error] FindClass org/apache/catalina/startup/Bootstrap failed"
Help?"
