I can only confirm this: I ran ab against some static and some dynamic websites [only apache] and where the speed results were quite different, at first i freaked out because ab was reporting 99% error rate. upon further investigation, but with no official confirmation to date, this is what i deducted :
the server response is what is used to compute the result that ab returns to the user. everything which falls in the "length" error category, is simply a mismatch in the returned message's lengh. dynamic websites, or, for instance, the confirmation message which couchdb outputs, are different between one another, so ab considers it an error. in other words, nothing to worry about.
