Something like the following will likely fix you up.
# your file location may be different
sudo launchctl unload /Library/LaunchDaemons/
org.couchdb.couchdb.plist
It might start doing that thing again, when you reboot. If that's the
case, deleting the .plist file (after unloading it) should keep it
from getting picked up on boot.
