In a lot of applications, like logging and such, it would be handy where one node held the 'full archive' of docs, and others would only have the most recent docs. Think like a couch on a server, versus a couch on a handheld. Due to space requirements, the handheld can only keep so many records.
Is there such a way to create a replication configuration where only the most recent docs are kept on the target couch? The other docs are not deleted, but simply discarded ? So in a way its not just a filter, but a signal for each doc to keep or discard on the target, to make room for the new, most recent. Or can I only do this outside of the replication mechanics?
