Curl isn’t related to CouchDB at all. All CouchDB cares is that you speak HTTP 1.1 to it over a TCP socket; what code you use on the client side is up to you. I don’t know what alternative to recommend since you haven’t said what OS you’re on, but most OS’s have native HTTP libraries besides libCurl. For example, on Mac OS or iOS you can use NSURLConnection. —Jens
