Hi, I work with a non-profit hospital in rural India, JSS (http://jssbilaspur.org/about/) that is building an open-source health information system and is in need of assistance with CouchDB.
JSS runs a multi-nodal hospital, three remote sub-centers and an extensive public health outreach program with over 100 community health workers, serving the most marginalized segments of Indian society. Its founding doctors hail from the premier teaching hospital in south Asia, New Delhi¹s AIIMS, and while their colleagues have gone on to become lucrative specialists in India and abroad, the physicians at JSS have chosen a markedly different career path. The project already has a growing group of very talented programmers in the US, India and UK, many of whom are CS PhD and Masters-level students from top universities (MIT, Harvard, Stanford, CMU to name a few). What we lack, however, is any experience with CouchDB. I am hoping someone here or others you may know might be able to volunteer a few hours a week to this collaborative effort. Our project wiki is here: https://wiki.openmrs.org/display/projects/Raxa+JSS+EMR For more information about JSS itself please see the link above and this news item about its work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yY_JSO-Dqg We could really use some help. Even the bandwidth for a few hours of volunteering a week would make a difference. Many thanks, Daniel
