CouchDB 1.01 is setup as a package in Ubuntu. I can install it easily. I tried to follow these instructions to install CouchDB 1.1 https://github.com/iriscouch/build-couchdb
Rake ran forever and then errored out, but I don't have the error. Since I'm not fully up to speed on Linux, I think I need to start over. I keep getting into endless loops trying to troubleshoot problems. I was hoping someone on this list could just say: "We've been using _______, and CouchDB 1.1 installs smoothly with _______." If you think I'm looking at this wrong, please let me know! I installed CouchDB 1.1.0 from scratch (including Erlang/OTP R14B03) in CentOS 6.0, but I don't suppose it would make any difference if I would use Ubuntu.
