Yes; I proposed this about three years ago: http://wiki.apache.org/couchdb/SignedDocuments (although I've updated the spec a couple of times since then.) I have an Objective-C implementation of this that I've been working with, and I got it partially implemented in Erlang (although my Erlang skills are pretty rudimentary.) —Jens
