Hi,

thanks.
Yes, I found this site and tried on Ubuntu 14, but every time I start CouchDB, there is erl_crash.dump created and the process dies.

Doing just apt-get installs properly, but installs version 1.5.
I cannot find changelog from 1.5 to 1.6 / 1.6.1 so I am not sure what features / fixes I am missing by using 1.5.

Hi Kiril,

you may also use the packages from here:
https://launchpad.net/~couchdb/+archive/ubuntu/stable

But they are probably not that streamlined as the official Ubuntu/Debian
packages.

Hi Kiril,

For Ubuntu the latest I know is 1.6.0:
https://code.launchpad.net/~jderose/ubuntu/utopic/couchdb/1.6.0
For Debian is 1.4.0: https://packages.debian.org/source/sid/couchdb
To build CouchDB from sources follow the install guidelines:
http://docs.couchdb.org/en/latest/install/unix.html
However, you may use docker image which is 1.6.1 and just works:
https://github.com/klaemo/docker-couchdb/

Imho, using docker is the most easiest way to overcome outdated
packages issue for these distros.
Hope this helps.

Hi,

I cannot find package for Ubuntu for v1.6.1.
Does anyone knows where such packages (for apt-get) can be found?
Latest release with packages is 1.5.

Is there easy way to try and build from sources?
