Hello CouchDB users and devs,

While the recent 1.7.1 CouchDB release included many new desired features and
fixes, we have encountered an issue on Windows in which the upgrade is not
seamless.

My team currently has CouchDB 1.6.1 running in a production Windows
environment, and the existing installation file path contains a space. We would
like to upgrade to 1.7.1 due to the recent security issue but discovered during
our testing that our current file paths would not work. Moving many TB of data
into new directories will be extremely challenging for this particular
environment.

There is an open Pull Request which appears to fix this issue:
https://github.com/apache/couchdb/pull/997

If this PR cannot be merged, is it at all possible to roll a 1.6.2 release
containing only the security fix and restore the previous 1.6.1 behavior where
spaces in file paths worked?

Much thanks,
Travis
