I'm working with O'Reilly Media on a proposal for some online training
related to CouchDB. They have asked for any usage/popularity statics
about CouchDB. I've done a little online research, and found very little.
I did find this: https://projects.apache.org/statistics.html
Which lists CouchDB as the 6th most active Apache codebase in the last
year. Interesting, but probably not what they need. Datanyze lists
CouchDB as having 0.08% market share among databases used on web sites
(https://www.datanyze.com/market-share/databases--272/apache-couchdb-market-share).
Also not very interesting.
Is anything else (publicly) available? Is there any way to get CouchDB
download statistics, or web site usage statistics, over the last 3-5
years, for example?
If nothing else is available, perhaps I can perform an analysis of the
quantity of posts to `user@`, or questions asked on StackOverflow, as a
proxy for popularity.
